If you’ve been a vegan for a while then you will have noticed the mahoooosive difference in the amount of options restaurants now offer for us vegans, compared to a few years ago. If you’re new to veganism, don’t worry, I’ve got loads of helpful info to help you on your journey!

With so many restaurants expanding their vegan options, you no longer have to feel like the odd one out when dining out. Veganism is becoming so main-stream now, which means it’s 100 times easier & more enjoyable to eat out as a vegan. Which is why I wanted to put together a list of restaurants with the best vegan options on the high street, to make it even easier for you to find yummy vegan food in your area.

about jade - the vegan

A lot of the main high street restaurants have realised that us vegans are not going anywhere & have started to veganize their menus. But don’t get me wrong, a lot of restaurants still don’t even offer 1 vegan option (booooooo!) TGI Friday’s have just announced that they will soon be adding vegan options to their menus, so I will be definitely visiting there when they do (and I’ll also update this post). Obviously there are thousands of restaurants around the UK with vegan options, so I wanted to stick with the main high street restaurants.

If you’re new to veganism, it can be really daunting when you get invited out to a restaurant & you start to panic about what the hell you’re going to eat. But trust me, it does get easier.

I would always recommend checking the menu online before you go to a restaurant so that you know what to expect, or call ahead & ask if they have vegan options if you can’t see any of the menu. If I go to a restaurant with ZERO vegan options, I try & make my own meal out of the vegan ingredients on the menu, or find a vegetarian meal & swap out the dairy/eggs. And if worst comes to worst, then I’ll order a side of fries and a large gin & tonic and call it a day – you’ve got the make the best out of a bad situation ey!
